Gísli Jónsson was born on October 8, 1873 in Rangárvallasýsla. He died on July 28, 1962 in Prince Rupert in Canada.

They came west to Manitoba from Vestmannaeyjar in 1902. They spent some time there before moving to the Osland Settlement in British Columbia. Gísli lived with Valdimar and his family in Prince Rupert in his later years.
