Gísli was a light boy at Veðramót in Skagafjörður, Kristjána’s home in 1870 and went from there, west to Winnipeg with his masters. Among them was Kristjána. Gísli worked in Winnipeg for a few years but moved to Keewatin, Ontario in 1885. Kristjána’s parents lived in Manitoba until 1880, when they moved to Mountain, N. Dakota.
