Haraldur Sigurðsson
Haraldur Sigurðsson was born in Eyjafjarðarsýsla on November 8, 1843. He died in Kenora, Ontario on April 27, 1935. He took the name Harold Sigurdson in the west.
Spouse: 1888 Alice, a woman of Scottish descent.
Children: 1. Edward, adopted. 2. Julia, adopted.
Haraldur grew up at Espihól in Eyjafjordur and then lived in Akureyri. From there he started sailing on a Danish ship. In 1886, he went to Mexico, where he was invited to participate in the operation of a cattle herd north of Manitoba. He accepted the offer, probably because he knew that Sigurður, his brother, had moved there. He lived in Manitoba for two years, then moved east to Keewatin, 
Ontario where he lived for the rest of his life.
