Sigríður Jóhanna Samúelsdóttir was born in Dalasýsla on August 14, 1848. She died in N. Dakota on December 16, 1923.
Spouse: September 29, 1878 Bjarni Bjarnason born in Strandasýsla on June 15, 1848. He died in the Garðar Settlement in N. Dakota September 26, 1901.

They emigrated west to Canada in 1883, took a train from Quebec to Pembina, N. Dakota. Kristján, Sigríður’s brother, waited there, and he moved the family to Garður where he lived. (He had emigrated west in 1878.) Bjarni took land south of Garðar and built a two-room log house where the youngest children were born.
