Guðmundur and Ólafía settled in the Akra Settlement in N. Dakota and lived there four years. Guðmundur had been a fisherman in Iceland and the prairies of N. They moved to the Siglunes Settlement on the north side of the lake and took property on a small spit of land in the lake. From then on, the land has been called Isberg’s Point. They lived there 35 years before moving to Lundar in 1930.
