Jón Eyjólfsson was born in N. Múlasýsla on September 29, 1856. He died in Manitoba on October 24, 1947.
Spouse: Guðrún Guðmundsdóttir b. May 23, 1869 in S. Múlasýsla, d. January 12, 1960.

Jón emigrated west with his parents in 1878 and settled with them in New Iceland. Jón moved about 1880 and bought land in the Park Settlement in N. Dakota. He lived there 15 years, then moved north to Westbourne, Manitoba, and further to Voga on the north side of Lake Manitoba. He lived there four years before moving again in 1909, this time to Lundar.
