Guðmundur and Guðrún came west to Canada from Borðeyri with their parents on the ship Verona in 1876. Both families settled in New Iceland. Guðmundur and Guðrún moved from there to N. Dakota in 1880 and homesteaded southwest of Mountain in the Eyford Settlement.
