Guðný Sesselja Sigurðardóttir was born in N. Þingeyjarsýsla in 1857. She died on March 9, 1949 in Winnipeg.
Spouse: July 10, 1873 Friðjón Friðriksson b. in N. Þingeyjarsýsla on August 21, 1849, d. in Winnipeg on August 17, 1913. He took the last name Fredrickson in the west.
Children: 1. Aurora b. in Gimli on September 4, 1877 2. Hermann b. July 10, 1879, d. a few years old 3. Kári b, October 15, 1888 in Glenboro 4. Haraldur b. 1892 in Glenboro, d. 1967.
They came west to Ontario, Canada in 1873 and live there for some time. They followed life’s road to Milwaukee, Wisconsin but moved back to Ontario and early in 1875 where Friðjón took over Sigtryggur Jónasson’s store in Kinmount. From there they went with the first group to New Iceland and Friðjón opened and ran a store in Gimli for the next five years. They were then in various places in the province, but then took the first train to Glenboro in 1886 and settled there. He opened a store and ran it successfully until 1906 but then sold it, moved to Winnipeg, and lived there the rest of their lives.
