Guðný Kristjánsdóttir was born in N. Þingeyjarsýsla on May 8, 1820. She died on May 23, 1915 in Minnesota.

The couple came west in 1883 and settled in the Lincoln County Settlement in Minnesota. From there, they moved to Laurier, Manitoba and later to the Argyle Settlement. Guðný moved back to Lincoln County after her husband died. The children came west at different times.
