They came west to the United States in 1887 and settled in Sayreville, New Jersey. They lived there until 1893 when they moved west to Winnipeg. A year later, they bought land in the Árnes Settlement in New Iceland and named the land Björk. In 1907, they moved to Selkirk and lived there.
