Kristín Margrét Eiríksdóttir was born on March 16, 1884 in Minneota, Minnesota. She took the name Margret Lifman or Magga Lifman at marriage.
Spouse: April 21, 1913 Bjarnþór Jónsson b. in Mýrasýsla on August 29, 1884, d. in Arborg, Manitoba on April 6, 1958. He took the name Bjarnthor (Thor) J. Lifman in the west.
Children: 1. Bergþóra b. July 18, 1914 in Winnipeg 2. Margrét b. February 24, 1916 in Winnipeg 3. Laufey b. October 4, 1918 in Gimli 4. Baldur b. August 9, 1921 in Arborg 5. Stefanía b. June 4, 1923 in Arborg 6. Solborg Guðrún b. September 29, 1927.
Kristín’s parents, Eiríkur Jónsson and Vilborg Stefánsdóttir, settled in Minnesota in 1878. They moved to Arborg, Manitoba in 1901. Bjarnþór came west to Manitoba with his parents, Jón Þorsteinsson and Solveig Bjarnadóttir, and moved with them to New Iceland. After some time, the family decided to move to Winnipeg. Bjarnþór was taken in as a foster child by Kristján Sigurðsson Lifman and his wife, Guðlaugu Sigfúsdóttir, in Gimli. Bjarnþór later took the family name. He was hired as a salesman at International Harvester Co. where he worked for 35 years. The couple lived the longest in Arborg.
