Sveinn Björnsson was born in N. Múlasýsla on July 9, 1874. He died in Washinton state in 1963. He took the name Sven Bjornson in the west.
Spouse: February 2, 1901 Ingibjörg Elísabet Jósefsdóttir b. June 25, 1867 at Hauksstaðir in N. Múlasýsla. She took the name Bertha Elizabeth Josephson in the west.
Children: 1. Agnes Josephine b. June 19, 1914 2. Marjorie b. c1916 3. Bayard b. April 20, 1918 4. Robert S. b. 1921. They adopted Roland b. December 16, 1907.
Sveinn came west to Minnesota in 1892 and at first lived for a time with his aunt Sesselja, Guðmundur Pétursson’s wife, in Yellow Medicine County. He had the opportunity to get an education and did so in 1898, but in 1905 he moved to N. Dakota. He was there for a few years but then moved west to Seattle and lived there.
