Guðrún Sigurjónsdóttir was born in Markland, Nova Scotia on July 10, 1879. She took the name Runa Swanson in the west.
Spouse: July 10, 1898 Eiríkur Magnússon b. in N. Múlasýsla on March 14, 1870. He died in Cincinnati, Ohio on January 19, 1968. He took the name Eric M. Thorsteinson in the west.

Guðrún was the daughter of Sigurjón Svanlaugsson and Elisabet Guðmundsdóttir who settled in Markland, Nova Scotia. They came west to Minnesota in 1880. Eiríkur came west to Minnesota in 1878 with his father, Magnús Þorsteinsson, and his wife, Vilhelmína Guðmundsdóttir. With them was his grandfather, Þorsteinn Erlendsson. They settled in Lincoln County. Eiríkur grew up there and bought land in the settlement in 1892. In 1905, he rented his land and house and moved to the town of Marshall. He and his family later moved to St. Paul, Minnesota, but in 1913, he sold his land and house and moved to Minneapolis. He worked there until he moved to California in 1923.
