Karólína Hólmfríður Kristjánsdóttir was born in N. Þingeyjarsýsla on May 22, 1897.
Spouse: June 22, 1916 Benedikt Björnsson b. in N. Múlasýsla on May 4, 1893. He took the last name Heiðman in the west.

Benedikt came west in 1903 with his parents, Björn Sigurðsson and Guðrún Hallgrímsdóttir. They settled in the Argyle Settlement. Karólína came west the same year with her parents, Kristján Sigurðsson and Árnína Þorláksdóttir. They settled in the Hóla Settlement in Manitoba. Benedikt was a farmer in the settlement for 11 years, and later as a driver in Glenboro for 19 years before moving to Winnipeg. There he was a superintendent for the First Lutheran Church of Iceland in the city.
