Anna Guðrún Jóhannsdóttir was born in 1849 in S. Þingeyjarsýsla.
Spouse: 1877 Skafti Arason was born at Hamri in Laxárdal in S. Þingeyjarsýsla on September 10, 1850, d. in Manitoba on June 24, 1903.

Skafti came west in 1874 and stayed in Kinmount for the first year. He was part of the land survey committee in the summer of 1875 to found New Iceland. He stayed in Selkirk until the autumn of that year, but then went with the first group to New Iceland in October. He took land in the Víðirnes Settlement and named it Kjalvík. He moved from there in the early spring of 1882 and settled in Argyle. Anna came west to New Iceland in 1876.
