They came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1879 and first lived in the Fljóts Settlement in New Iceland in 1879. They moved in 1884 east of Lake Winnipeg to Sand River where they lived until 1888. From there, they took land in the Víðirnes Settlement near Gimli in New Iceland and lived there the rest of their days.
