Jón Jónsson was born in Húnavatnssýsla on October 12, 1873. He died in the Lundar Settlement in 1963.
Spouse: October 31, 1895 Soffía Jónsdóttir b. in Ísafjarðarsýsla in 1877, d. 1948.

Jón came west to Ontario, Canada with his parents, Jón Jónadabsson and Ingibjörg Tómasdóttir, in 1874. They moved from there to New Iceland, N. Dakota, and lastly to the Lundar Settlement in 1891. They took land there and began farming. The couple opened a store and ran it until 1914. They lived there the rest of their lives.
