Sigurbjörg Stefánsdóttir was born in S. Múlasýsla on September 29, 1872. She died in Minneota, Minnesota on February 3, 1905.
Spouse: May 22, 1893 Björn Björnsson b. in N. Þingeyjarsýsla on June 19, 1870 in N. Þingeyjarsýsla, d. in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 13, 1938. He was known as Rev. Bjorn Bjornsson in the west.
Children: 1. Emil Þórður b. September 16, 1894 2. Anna Stefanía b. May 20, 1896 3. Agnes b. July 25, 1898 4. Ester b. September 27, 1900 5. Sigurbjörg María b. January 24, 1905, d. December 26, 1908 of tuberculosis.
Sigurbjörg came west to Canada in 1876 with her parents, Stefán Gunnarsson and Anna Sigfúsdóttir. They settled in New Iceland but moved from there in 1881 to Winnipeg. Björn came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1876 with his parents, Bjorn Jónsson and Þorbjörg Björnsdóttir. Björn attended the seminary and became as pastor. He served the Icelandic communities in Minnesota from 1894 to 1914 and was the pastor at the First Lutheran Church in Winnipeg from 1914 to 1938.
