They came west to Minnesota in 1880 with Þórunn’s mother, Ástríður Sveinsdóttir. They lived in Lincoln County in 1885 but then moved to Minneota ten years later. Life’s road led them from there to Watertown, S. Dakota sometime after the turn of the century and are listed there in the Census of 1910. Eiríkur was a carpenter, but later worked for a railway company.
