Hólmfríður Einarsdóttir was born in Eyjafjarðarsýsla in 1843.
Spouse: Loftur Jónasson b. in Ólafsfjörður in Eyjafjarðarsýsla on July 9, 1841, d. in Minneota, Minnesota on April 21, 1891.
Children: 1. Jónína b. July 23, 1869.
Hólmfríður came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba with Jónína, age 7 years, in 1876. A Western source says that she was Loftur’s wife. If so, they have either divorced or Hólmfríður died shortly after coming to Canada because Loftur had a daughter with Aðalbjörg Jóakimsdóttir in April, 1877, and they lived together in Minnesota and had more children there. Loftur had come west to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1873. He stayed there until 1876, when he settled in Yellow Medicine County in Minnesota. He sold his farm in 1890 and moved to Minneota.
