Petrína came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1888. Traveling with her was Stefán’s good friend, Gísli Grímsson, who lived with them all the time. Petrína and Stefán married a year later and lived in Winnipeg until the turn of the century. They then moved to the Lundar Settlement and lived on their land.
