Páll came west with his parents in 1888 and the family moved to Garðar, N. Dakota. From there, they moved to Brown, Manitoba in 1899. Páll moved from there in 1907 to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan. He bought land near Mozart.
