Svanhildur Jónsdóttir was born in Borgarfjarðarsýsla on September 22, 1880.
Spouse: Kjartan Magnússon b. in Skagafjarðarsýsla in 1872, d. in San Diego on April 14, 1930.

Svanhildur came west in 1881 with her parents, Jón Gíslason and Þóra Halldórsdóttir. Kjartan had come west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1876 with his parents, Magnús Guðmundsson and Guðrún Guðmundsdóttir. They settled in N. Dakota, and from there Kjartan moved west to the Pacific coast at the turn of the century. They lived in Seattle in 1905, moved back to N. Dakota after a few years, and then moved west to San Diego, California. After Kjartan’s death, Svanhildur moved to N. Dakota and lived in the Akra Settlement.
