They came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1883 with Kristín and Kristján and went from there to the Argyle Settlement. Jón stopped farming around 1909, moved to Glenboro and lived there for a few years, and then moved west to the Lakes Settlement in Saskatchewan where his son Kristján lived in Kandahar. Emigrating west with them to Canada were Anna’s parents Kristján Sigurðsson and Kristín Kristjánsdóttir.
