Þorvaldur and Elsa came west with Kristín in 1883 and settled in Floodwood in St. Louis County in Minnesota. In 1905, Þorvaldur and Fríða went west to the Pacivid and settled in Shnomish County in Washington. They lived there until 1920 but later moved to Skagit County.
