Guðrún Stefánsdóttir was born in 1868 in Skagafjarðarsýsla. She died in the Árnes Settlement on June 27, 1931.

Jónas and Guðrún moved to the Garðar Settlement in N. Dakota in 1892. They moved from there in 1902 to Selkirk, Manitoba. Life’s road led them to the Ísafold Settlement in 1905. From there they moved to the Árdals-Framnes Settlement and lived there a short time before buying land in Vatnsnes in the Árnes Settlement in 1909.
