Sigríður Oddsdóttir was born at Stað in Grindavík in Gullbringusýsla on November 13, 1878. She died on February 18, 1976 in Duluth. She took the name Sadie O´Hara in the west.

Sigríður was the daughter of Oddur V. Gíslason and Anna Vilhjálmsdóttir who came west to Manitoba in 1894. They moved from Duluth north to the Fljóts Settlement in New Iceland where they lived one year, then move in 1903 back to Duluth where Sigríður lived the rest of her life. Michael was a land surveyor.
