Jóhann Frímann Guðmundsson was born in Markland, Nova Scotia in 1879. He died in Duluth on September 10, 1905.
Unmarried and childless.
He was the son of Guðmundur Guðmundsson and Sigríður Guðmundsdóttir who came west to Canada in 1874 and settled in Markland, Nova Scotia. Jóhann moved with them to Duluth, Minnesota in 1881 and lived there until the turn of the century. He became a merchant in International Falls, Minnesota, a small town on the Canadian border, and is listed there in the 1905 census. Apparently he returned to Duluth in the middle of the year because he died there in the fall.
