Halldóra Ingibjörg Ásgrímsdóttir was born in Skagafjarðarsýsla on January 16, 1885. She died in Blaine, Washington on December 11, 1918.

Halldóra came west to America in 1890 and lived in Duluth, Minnesota as did her brothers, Ásgrímur and Jósafat. She moved west to the Pacific around the turn of the century and settled in Seattle where she met Sigurður. He completed his studies of theology in Portland, Oregon in 1914, was ordained as a pastor on February 14, 1915, and served as a pastor in Blaine.
