Einar Jónsson was born on May 6, 1856 in Álftafjörður in S. Múlasýsla. He died on February 10, 1934.

Einar came west in 1879 and moved on to Minnesota. He lived in the Lincoln County Settlement. From there, they moved to Duluth and lived there until 1894. They then moved to New Iceland and lived for awhile in the Hnausa Settlement, but divorced. Einar moved to Árborg.
