Sigurjóna Davíðsdóttir was born on November 17, 1856 in Strandasýsla. She died on February 3, 1923 in Duluth.

Spouse: December 10, 1887 in Winnipeg, Sigurður Jónsson b. 1866 in Kjósarsýsla, d. August 30, 1935 in St. Louis County in Minnesota. He took the last name Norman in the west.

Children: 1. Bertha Kristín b. April 5, 1890 2. Elsie Emily b. July 23, 1891 3. David John b. April 19, 1893 4. Karl Alexander b. May 18, 1896, d. October 12, 1918 in a fire 5. Þórdís Sigurlaug b. September 24, 1897 6. Pálmi Albert b. July 10, 1899 7. John W. b. April 2, 1903.

Sigurður came west to Winnipeg in 1885 while Sigurjóna arrived there a year later. In the spring of 1888, they moved to Duluth where they both worked for the first few years, but then bought land west of the city where Sigurður had a dairy farm. They lived there until the fall of 1918, but on October 12th, they lost everything:  livestock, all the tools and equipment as well as the home and other buildings, but the saddest of all was the death of Karl Alexander in the fire. A large part of the north eastern part of the state was destroyed by this fire. This was too much for Sigurður and he decided to move west to the Pacific Ocean. He returned a few years later; Sigurjóna had worked with her children on rebuilding and improving the farm as long as she was able.
