Ingveldur Ingimundardóttir was born on August 6, 1859 in Árnessýsla. He died on May 30, 1957 in St. Louis County in Minnesota. She took the name Inga Bachman in the west.
Spouse: Jón Þorsteinsson b. December 4, 1859 in Hrútafjörður in Húnavatnssýsla, d. in Duluth on July 20, 1945.
Children: 1. Marta (Martha) b. October 22, 1895 2. Óskar (Oscar) Valtýr b. March 24, 1897.
Jón came west to Winnipeg in 1886, while Ingveldur came with her sister Þórey and her family in 1888. They went to New York and from there to Duluth, Minnesota. Þórey’s family took the name Bachman and due to kinship, Ingveldur took it too. Jón moved to Duluth and is registered there in 1898. He worked for Kristján Jónsson from Sveinatunga, the director of the Forest Hill Cemetery. In 1910 he was a dairy farmer west of the city, but lived in the city.
