Ágúst came west to Minnesota soon after 1880. In 1885, he is living with Magnús Mikaelsson and Sigurbjörg Kolbeinsdóttir in Lincoln County, and in that county is where he and Sesselja began farming. They moved to the town of Marshall in Lyon County and lived there many years, but in 1920 they moved to Minneapolis. Sesselja came west in 1883.
