Ingvi S. Sveinsson and Herdís Kristjánsdóttir Photo: A Century Unfolds
Ingvi Sveinn Sveinsson was born in Svold, N. Dakota on August 28, 1892. He died in the Framnes Settlement on May 16, 1971. He had the name Ingvi S. Erickson in the west.

Ingvi grew up in the Hallson Settlement in N. Dakota and finished primary school there. He went to Winnipeg and studied business. Herdís moved west with her stepmother, Ragnheiður Davíðsdóttir, in 1909 and went to the Árdals Settlement. Herdís moved from there to Winnipeg 2 years later and attended business school there, where she met Ingvi. They lived in Arborg, Manitoba.
