Oddur Tryggvi Oddsson was born on December 26, 1877 in S. Þingeyjarsýsla. He died in Manitoba in 1933. He took the name Tryggvi Sigurdson in the west.
Spouse: June 30, 1924 Guðný Pálína Jónsdóttir b. in Mountain, N. Dakota on September 7, 1888. She had the name Pauline Sigurdson in the west.
Children: 1. Petrína Louise b. August 27, 1925 2. Páll (Paul) Aðalgeir b. September 18, 1927.
Oddur came west in 1883 with his mother Sigríður Gunnlaugsdóttir and siblings; Oddur’s father, Oddur Sigurðsson, died in Iceland. Sigríður took land in the Garðar Settlement, but moved to the Morden Settlement in Manitoba shortly after the turn of the century. Tryggvi lived there the rest of his days. Guðný’s parents, Jón Þorláksson and Petrína Guðnadóttir, lived near Mountain, N. Dakota but moved north to Manitoba at the turn of the century.
