Clara moved there with her parents, Lars Hogan and Sigrún Björnsdóttir from the Fjalla Settlement in N. Dakota. Sigrún was the daughter of Björn Pétursson and Ólivía Ólafsdóttir who came west from N. Múlasýsla in 1876. Vilhjálmur and Clara later moved to Smeaton, Saskatchewan.
