Tómas came west to Canada in 1876 with Guðni, Margrét, and Tómas Hjörtur. Sigríður had come there the year before and lived in Kinmount and Tómas went to her. From there he went to N. Dakota where Guðni took land in the Akra Settlement. Tómas lived his last years with his grandson Kristján.
