Kristján Sigurðsson was born on June 28, 1849 in Skagafjarðarsýsla. He took the last name Eyford in the west.
Spouse: 1886 Guðríður Halldóra Jónsdóttir b. March 19, 1859, d. 1906.
Children: 1. Þóra Margrét b. December 27, 1886 2. Sæunn Jakobína 3. Anna Hólmfríður 4. Áróra Sigríður 5. Skafti Valdimar b. August 5, 1896.
Kristján came west with his mother, Þóra Þorláksdóttir, and siblings in 1876 and moved to New Iceland. Þóra died there in 1877 and Kristján moved to Winnipeg in 1878 and lived there until 1886. He then settled in Mountain, N. Dakota. From there he moved with his wife to Hallson, but from there the road led them to Roseau, Minnesota in 1894. Guðríður died there and the same year Kristján moved to Pine Valley, where his daughter Þóra Margrét lived. He lived there for a few years but lived the rest of his life in Winnipeg with his daughter Sæunn and her husband Friðlundur Jónsson. Guðríður had come west to N. Dakota with her son, Guðmund Andrésson in 1883.
