Sigurður Guðjónsson was born in N. Múlasýsla on July 15, 1883. He died in Saskatchewan on May 1, 1956. He took the last name Vopni in the west.
Spouse: Sigurveig Björnsdóttir b. in Skagafjarðarsýsla in 1886, d. November 10, 1960.
Children: 1. Björn Laurence 2. Guðjón 3. Guðríður Elenóra 4. Sveinn
Sigurður came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba with his parents and siblings in 1889. He grew up with them in the Argyle Settlement and moved with them to Tantallon in 1900. They took land in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan. Sigurður took land in the Kandahar/Dafoe area. Sigurveig came west with her parents, Björn Erlendsson and Guðrún Jónsdóttir, at just few months old, in 1887.
