Sigurður Daníelsson was born in Snæfellsnessýsla on July 12, 1876. He died in Lundar, Manitoba on January 1, 1972. He took the last name Holm in the west.

Sigurður came west with his parents and siblings in 1894 and lived with them in the Lundar Settlement for the first years. He moved to Lundar and ran a pharmacy. Sigríður came west with her parents, Jóhannes Pálsson Borgfjörð and Elísabet Snorradóttir, in 1902. They took land in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan and lived near Leslie.
