Olgeirína Sveinsdóttir was born in W. Skaftafellssýsla in 1889. She died in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan in 1935. Olga in the west.

Olga, also listed as Olgeirína in western sources, came west to the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in 1910. She was the daughter of Sveinn Ingimundsson and Karítas Þorsteinsdóttir of Efriey, W. Skaftafellssýsla. She was the sister of the painter Jóhannes Kjarval. Bjarni was one year old when he came west in 1887 with his parents, Jóhannes Ólafsson and Margrét Bjarnadóttir, who settled in New Iceland. Bjarni grew up there, moved to Winnipeg, and worked there as a carpenter. He also worked for some time in Mountain, N. Dakota. He took land in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan in 1905.
