Guðrún Katrín Jónsdóttir was born in 1885 in S. Múlasýsla, d. in Kandahar, Saskatchewan in 1932.
Spouse: 1910 Guðjón Jónsson b. in Borgarfjarðarsýsla in 1883, d. in Vancouver in 1967. He took the name Gudjon Sveinbjornson in the west.

Guðrún was the daughter of Jón Sturluson and his wife Sigríður Einarsdóttir, who came west in 1905. Guðjón was the son of Jón Sveinbjarnarson and Guðný Andrésdóttir who came west in 1887. They first lived in the Argyle Settlement in Manitoba, but took land in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan on June 14, 1905 and moved there in 1907. Guðrún and Guðjón lived in the Lakes Settlement until Guðrún died. Guðjón then moved west to the Pacific.
