Sigríður Sigurðardóttir Nordal was born in Húnavatnssýsla on May 31, 1874. She died on February 8, 1922.

Sigríður came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1893. She was the daughter of Sigurður Guðmundsson and Valgerður Jónsdóttir who came west in 1874, but she grew up in the home of Reverend Eggert Ó Briem at Höskuldsstaðir. They came west in 1893. Snorri came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1888 and settled there. He later lived for 10 years in Brandon, was a farmer in New Iceland, and then bought land in the Hólar Settlement Saskatchewan in 1895. He lived there until 1919. He then moved to the Brown settlement and Rivers in Manitoba before he moved west to the Pacific in 1947. He last lived at a home for the elderly at Höfn in Vancouver, British Columbia.
