Anna Stefanía Þorkelsdóttir was born in 1863 in Eyjafjarðarsýsla. She died in Manitoba on July 8, 1922.
Spouse: 1887 Sigurjón Bergvinsson b. in S. Þingeyjarsýsla on February 26, 1848, d. in Manitoba on April 19, 1934.
Children: 1. Margrét b. August 9, 1888, remained in Iceland, married Lárus Rist, swimming teacher 2. Þorkell b. 1891 3. Ingibjörg b. 1886, died young in Winnipeg 4. Gísli Bergmann b. 1899.
They came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1900 and first lived there. They moved west to Broadview, Saskatchewan where Sigurjón took land. They lived there until 1909 and then moved to the Brown Settlement in Manitoba. There they did everything in their power, built a large and well-made house, bought a threshing machine and other equipment. Both Þorkell and Gísli farmed with their father and gradually their land expanded. In 1926, they stopped farming and the brothers moved to Winnipeg, leaving old Sigurjón with relatives.
