Sveinn Jónasson was born on April 15, 1882 in Húnavatnssýsla. He died in the war in France on March 30, 1918.
Unmarried and childless.
He came west in 1888 with his father, Jónas Jónsson, and his brother, Jón. The father and sons moved to the Akra Settlement in N. Dakota. Sveinn worked in various places in the settlement, but in 1901, he moved to the Brown Settlement in Manitoba. There he bought land and added to it, but soon sold it again. He joined the Canadian Army in 1915 and was sent to England in 1916.
