They came west to Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1876 and settled in New Iceland. Western sources say Fridbjörn had lived alone in Mikley and that Stefán had gone west to the Pacific Ocean. No mention of Guðný. Guðrún accompanied them west to New Iceland.
