Guðjón Jónsson was born in 1888 in N. Múlasýsla. He died in 1966 in Lundar. He took the name Gudjon Thorkelson in the west.
Spouse: 1914 Herdís Guðbrandsdóttir b. in Dalasýsla on September 28, 1895. She took the name Disa Thorkelson in the west.

Herdís came west to Manitoba in 1903 with her parents, Guðbrandur Jörundsson and Jóhanna Ásgeirsdóttir. They settled in the Shoal Lake Settlement (Grunnavatnsbyggð) and Herdís grew up there. She met Guðjón in Lundar as he had come to Canada in 1901 with his parents, Jón Þorkelsson and Kristín Jónsdóttir. They began farming on the land of Guðjón’s father and lived there for many years before moving to Lundar.
