Ingimundur Ingimundarson was born in Dalasýsla on November 30, 1885. He died in Lundar, Manitoba on August 2, 1962. He was known as Mimi Ingimundson in the west.

Ingimundur came west as a young child to Winnipeg in 1888 with his parents, Ingimundur Guðmundsson and Sólborg Guðmundsdóttir, and siblings. They settled in the Swan Lake Settlement (Álftavatnsbyggð) and that is where Ingimundur grew up. He lived for a long time in his father’s house, where he cared for his elderly mother until her death.
