They came west in 1883 with Páll’s father, Jóhannes, and also Einar and Sveinbjörg, Þórlaug’s siblings. They came to Winnipeg but then traveled from there to New Iceland and took land in the Fljóts Settlement which they named Reynivellir. Life’s road led them to the Geysir Settlement and Páll took land there that he later sold and took over his father’s land, Grænanes. He later sold that and moved to Arborg.
