Jósefína Marta Bjarnadóttir was born on August 7, 1865 in Snæfellsnessýsla, d. October 24, 1951. She took the name Martha Borgford in the west.
Spouse: Jón Jóhannsson b. in Dalasýsla on July 26, 1867, d. in Saskatchewan on June 16, 1938. He took the name John Borgford in the west.

Jón came west to Manitoba in 1876 with his parents, Jóhann Jóhannesson and Málfríður Jónsdóttir. They settled in New Iceland, but then put down roots in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) in Saskatchewan after the turn of the century. Jósefína came west to Manitoba in 1881. Jón lived with his parents in New Iceland, but in 1906 he was living in Humboldt, Saskatchewan with his wife and children. They moved east in the Lakes Settlement (Vatnabyggð) and settled east of Elfros.
